Mac Clark (Acacia peuce) Conservation Reserve and Kuyunba Conservation Reserve Draft Joint Management Plans

The draft joint management plans for Mac Clark (Acacia peuce) Conservation Reserve and for Kuyunba Conservation Reserve are now open for public comment until 4pm, Monday 15 April 2024.

Priorities for management of the reserves include:

  1. Making joint management work - Traditional Owners and the Northern Territory Government working together to build a strong and equitable partnership.
  2. Looking after culture and country – Protecting the reserves natural and cultural values and incorporating Aboriginal knowledge and interests into management.

And for Mac Clark (Acacia peuce) Conservation Reserve:

  1. Providing for visitor experiences – Educating the public about one of Australia’s rarest trees, which is found at only three locations worldwide. The shared Lower Southern Arrernte, Eastern Arrernte, and Central Arrernte cultural heritage, and the European pastoral history of the Reserve will continue to form part of the visitor experience.
