Thank you to our campground hosts!

As the sun sets on another Parks and Wildlife campground host season, we want to express our gratitude to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to assist our rangers during peak season this year. These adventurous individuals went above and beyond to ensure that visitors had a memorable and enjoyable experience in our parks. From greeting campers and providing helpful information about the park, to tirelessly maintaining the campgrounds and keeping them clean and safe for everyone to enjoy, it was a great effort and we thank you!

Leon and Karen Bailey are two such volunteers. They hosted at three of our beautiful parks, spending three weeks in both Litchfield and Elsey National Parks, and seven weeks caretaking at Munbililla in Limmen National Park. They have had an absolute ball! They’re really pleased to have been able to help and support rangers and visitors this year. From being a friendly face at campsites to keeping the lawns shipshape at Munbililla, they’ve enjoyed the diversity of tasks and the unique landscapes. Beyond their campground duties, they’ve also been out exploring and getting to know the parks like a local, forging connections with our rangers and lots of adventurous travellers, and cooking up a storm of biscuits and pizzas! Check out the photos! We look forward to having them back again.
