In February 2024 the Northern Territory Weed Management Branch hosted a Gamba ID Workshop as a part of the ICIN 2024 North Australian Savanna Fire Forum.

The Indigenous Carbon Industry Network (ICIN) held the 2024 North Australia Savanna Fire Forum in Darwin from 20 to 22 February 2024. As a part of the Forum the NTG Weed Management Branch held a Gamba Grass Workshop in Coconut Grove. The session focused on identification and management methods of gamba grass. It also highlighted priority weeds to be aware of such as Siam weed. Common grasses that share characteristics with gamba such as Itch grass, lemon-scented grass and northern cane grass were presented to the group to help Rangers from across the North correctly identify new gamba incursions out on country.
