Rangelands and Bushfires NT Divisions of the department recently participated in the Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association 40th Annual General Conference.

The Northern Territory Government was a host sponsor for the recent Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association (NTCA) 40th Annual General Conference in Alice Springs. This significant event not only marked a milestone for the NTCA but also provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders in the pastoral industry.

Department staff joined others from Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade for a shared display. Representatives from the Rangelands Division and Bushfires NT participated in drawing a diverse crowd from enthusiastic secondary school students to His Honour the Honourable Hugh Heggie AO PSM, Administrator of the Northern Territory. The display showcased contemporary policies, guidelines, strategies and pastoral mapping products on matters relevant to the pastoral industry including, fire management and sustainable grazing practices.

This engagement highlighted the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in supporting pastoralists and land managers, providing the tools, resources, and expertise on the evolving opportunities and challenges of rangeland management, pastoral land administration and fire mitigation.
