Splashfest 2024
Splashfest is an annual event run by the Royal Lifesaving Association as part of Water Safety Week (15 – 21 September 2024).
The Swimming Pool Safety unit represented the department at this year’s Splashfest event held on Sunday 15 September, at the Darwin Waterfront.
The department has been involved since it first started many years ago.
For the kids there was Boof the Barra, waterslides, circus entertainment, splash bucket fun, Water Safety Creek competition, kids DJ, jumping castles, face painting and stilt walkers, as well as giveaways and water safety demonstrations.
There were ten stall holders all participating in the Water Safety Creek Card competition where kids received a stamp on their cards at each stall to enter in a competition.
Around 479 people visited the stall which was another fantastic turnout. The team gave out stickers, pamphlets, and plenty of advice on all things pool and spa safety related.
