Churchill Fellowship to bring best practice environmental regulation to the NT

Published

Last year, Tess Cole-Adams undertook a Churchill Fellowship. She travelled to the UK, Europe and Greenland to meet with best practice environmental regulators.

Tess has produced a report with some of her learnings and findings. These include insights into how other countries deal with issues across the regulatory spectrum, from issuing licences and permits to taking compliance and enforcement action. It also details some common challenges faced by regulators.

The report can be downloaded on the Winston Churchill Trust website.

This experience will be a source of inspiration for Tess as she heads up the new Regulatory Excellence team (REX). REX will be dedicated to growing the strategy and maturity of the Environment / Regulation Division and ensuring that the Territory’s environmental regulator is a place of regulatory excellence.

The Churchill Fellowship is a unique opportunity to travel and learn from organisations around the globe. You can find more information on the Winston Churchill Trust website.
