Siam weed update 2023

As at November 2023, Siam weed is known to be present on over 130 sites across 11 properties in the Northern Territory (NT). These infestation sites extend over 3 major catchments: the Finniss, Reynolds and Daly Rivers. The current known infestations span approximately 9,500 km2 of the western Top End. The furthermost infestation now sits over 100 km from the first recorded infestation.

Solar Car Challenge meets Be Crocwise

Preparations for the 2023 Bridgestone World Solar Car Challenge this year included a visit from a member of the Parks and Wildlife Community Engagement team and a Be Crocwise presentation. Test runs for the solar cars are held along Gunn Point Road just outside of Darwin. With many of the roadside culverts in the area leading directly into creeks and rivers our very special visitors needed to Be Crocwise and understand that they were now in croc country.
