Environment management plan decisions
An environment management plan (EMP) must show how environmental risks:
- are controlled and reduced to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable and acceptable
- meet the principles of ecological sustainable development.
The full contents of an EMP will be made public, except for information defined by the Petroleum (Environment) Regulations 2016.
Stakeholder engagement for an EMP is also described in these regulations. It must be included for the Minister for Environment to be make a decision.
If the minister is not satisfied an EMP meets the approval criteria, the minister must refuse to approve the EMP.
The following EMPs have been approved and are published on behalf of the minister.
This is in line with regulation 24 and 26 of the Petroleum (Environment) Regulations 2016.
